‍OverviewMidnight Rule ("the App") is a UK tax residence day tracker that helps you monitor your Statutory Residence Test (SRT) status.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

‍Information We Collect
Account information: email address, name (when you create an account)
Travel data: dates, countries visited, and location categories you log
Tax year configuration: arriver/leaver status, UK ties
Subscription status: whether you have an active Pro subscription
Profile picture: stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your account

‍How We Use Your Information
To calculate your UK tax residence status under the Statutory Residence Test
To track Schengen zone and country-specific visa/tax day limits
To sync your data across devices when you sign in
To send optional notifications (daily reminders, trip alerts, limit warnings)
To manage your subscription and restore purchases

‍Third-Party Services
‍The App uses the following third-party services:
‍Supabase — Authentication and cloud data sync. Your account data and travel logs are stored securely on Supabase servers. See supabase.com/privacy for their privacy policy.
‍RevenueCat — Subscription and in-app purchase management. RevenueCat processes your purchase transactions through Apple's App Store. See revenuecat.com/privacy for their privacy policy.
‍Apple iCloud — Optional backup storage via iCloud key-value store and CloudKit, subject to your iCloud settings.

‍Data Storage & Security
‍ Your data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData
When signed in, data is synced to secure Supabase cloud servers
All network communication uses HTTPS encryption
Biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID) is available as an additional security layer
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes

‍Data Retention
‍Your data is retained as long as you maintain an active account.
If you delete your account through the app's Settings, all associated data is permanently removed from our servers.
Local data on your device is also cleared upon sign-out or account deletion.

Access your data at any time within the app
Export your data to CSV format (Pro feature)
Delete your account and all associated data from Settings
Opt out of notifications at any time

‍Children's Privacy
‍The App is not directed at children under the age of 13
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

‍Changes to This Policy
‍We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the app with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
