Haatch backs Falkin to build the future of digital safety

We’re excited to announce our latest investment in Falkin, a London-based startup redefining scam prevention for the AI era. Falkin has raised a $2 million pre-seed round led by TriplePoint Ventures, with participation from Notion Capital, BackFuture Ventures, Aviva/Founders Factory, Found Capital, and Haatch.

Who is Falkin?

Falkin is a digital safety company using AI to stop scams before payments happen. Its technology analyses manipulation and deception across messages, payment requests, listings, and investment opportunities, detecting fraud at the moment of persuasion, not after the money moves.

Falkin’s prevention tools are embedded directly within banking platforms, enabling financial institutions to protect customers seamlessly inside the apps and experiences they already trust. The company’s new initiative, Safety Labs, helps community banks and credit unions deploy scam-prevention tools quickly, with minimal technical lift.

Why This Matters

AI-powered scams have become one of the defining financial threats of our time. Voice cloning, deepfakes, and automated social-engineering tools have made fraud more sophisticated and harder to detect, and yet, most existing systems only activate once money has already left an account.

By analysing behavioural signals and deception patterns, it helps financial institutions intervene before transactions occur, redefining how trust and safety are built into digital finance. The platform has already been tested by banks and tens of thousands of users across the UK and US, with 78% of users saying Falkin makes them feel more confident online.

Why We Are Excited

We believe Falkin sits at the intersection of two critical frontiers, AI and digital trust. As scammers weaponise generative technologies, Falkin’s team is turning AI from a threat into a force for protection. Their vision to embed proactive safety into everyday banking aligns perfectly with Haatch’s focus on backing high-impact, early-stage technology that solves real-world problems at scale.

Falkin’s founders, Boaz Valkin and Joel Frisch, are building the next layer of digital safety for finance, one that doesn’t just detect fraud but prevents it. We’re excited to support their mission to make proactive safety universal.

Advisers who recommend EIS often ask us about risk.
The asset class is routinely labelled “high risk”, but that description is often too simple to be useful in real client conversations.

You've seen the headlines. $300 billion wiped from software stocks in a single session. Salesforce down 27% year-to-date. Atlassian off 35% in a week. The SaaSpocalypse has dominated every feed for the past six weeks. Like most narratives that move this fast, it's partly right, partly overblown, and mostly missing the point.

When we first backed AIApply in March 2024 through our SEIS fund, we were backing more than just a company; we were backing a thesis and a team. The job search experience is fundamentally broken. Candidates face a fragmented, opaque process that often feels stacked against them. We believed AI could transform this experience, putting the power back in job seekers' hands.
