Introducing Haatch Custody: Another Industry First

Haatch is now the industry's first fund to bring its entire tax-efficient custody in-house, powered by a new partnership with Saafehouse.

My thesis on Vertical SaaS for the venture industry has never been stronger, but it's also not new.

We first backed Odin in 2021 and re-invested in 2023 and 2025 to become the largest single investor in what's become the gold standard in SPV and Fund Administration for the venture capital industry.

We're early investors and the first-ever live customer of Further, which has not only become the leading fund administration platform for the tax-efficient fund space, but their recent launch into GP/LP has shaken the industry with a single platform covering the first onboarding through to final distribution.

Today, I'm pleased to announce the next piece of the puzzle. Haatch is the lead investor and first live customer of Saafehouse, founded by industry veteran Stephen Doherty.

We fundamentally believe Saafehouse will revolutionise the future of custody. Whether through fund managers taking control in-house, or a wave of exciting new and incumbent custodians offering custody at price and service levels never seen before, all enabled by the efficiencies Saafehouse provides.

Not only is Haatch the first live Saafehouse customer, but Haatch is also the first fund in the industry to take its entire tax-efficient funds custody completely in-house. That means safe custody of assets and client money in fully operated Haatch nominees and Haatch client money accounts, with no external providers, fully CASS-compliant and fully authorised by the FCA to do so.
This is an industry step change, and it's happening now.

For our investors, financial advisors, and industry partners, expect the best, fastest, and most efficient fully CASS-compliant custody process in the industry.

For our portfolio companies, expect Haatch to complete deals, sign documents, wire funds, and hold shares in our own nominee accounts at a service level never before seen.

For those in the industry, Saafehouse is here and is currently onboarding hundreds of millions of AUM. Reach out to Stephen to find out more.

Most commentary on enterprise AI adoption sits at one of two extremes. Either macro forecasts about trillions of dollars of value, or anecdotes about a single tool deployment. What's harder to find is the middle ground: what's actually driving buying decisions right now, and how that translates into revenue for the companies catching the wave.

The start of January through to the end of the UK tax year is an incredibly important time for EIS & SEIS Fund managers, with a combination of a large number of early-stage companies seeking to complete their fundraising, as well as increased levels of investor appetite to offset income/capital gains tax liabilities before tax-year-end.

Advisers who recommend EIS often ask us about risk.
The asset class is routinely labelled “high risk”, but that description is often too simple to be useful in real client conversations.
